Privacy Policy for Minus One

Last updated: 14 September 2026

This policy explains what Minus One (Android package com.tuduceandrei.minusone) does with your information. It covers the app only, not any website or other product.

The short version

Minus One has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of its own. It never asks for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or location. Your scores stay on your phone. Two things leave your device, both to Google: what its advertising system needs to show you a rewarded ad, when you choose to watch one, and anonymous usage statistics (which screens you play, whether a run was won or lost, whether an ad was watched) so we can tell whether the game is worth continuing to build. In the EU, UK, and Switzerland neither happens until you have answered the consent form, and saying no switches both off.

What is stored on your device

The app saves two things locally, using your device's own app storage. Neither is transmitted anywhere, and neither is readable by other apps.

WhatWhy
@minus-one/best-score: your highest survival score So the game can show your personal best
@minus-one/daily: today's challenge seed, attempts used, best result of the day, and any attempt still in progress So the daily challenge survives closing the app, and so attempts are counted correctly

Uninstalling the app deletes both. There is no backup or sync.

Advertising

Minus One shows rewarded ads: optional, full-screen video you start yourself in exchange for an in-game reward. There are no banner ads and no ads that interrupt play. Ads are served by Google AdMob, and every ad request is handled by Google, not by us.

To serve and measure those ads, Google may collect and process your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and operating system details, coarse location inferred from IP, and how you interacted with the ad. The app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission for this reason. We do not receive, store, or have access to any of it. We only learn whether an ad finished, so the reward can be granted.

Google's handling of this data is governed by its own terms:

Analytics

Minus One uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the game is played. It records events such as a run starting or ending (with the score, move count, and lines cleared), a rewarded ad being watched or not finished, a daily result being shared, and the tutorial being completed. With each event Google receives a random app-instance identifier, your device's advertising ID, device and operating system details, IP address, and coarse location inferred from it. We use this to see whether players who arrived through an advertisement for the game keep playing and whether the rewarded ads they watch cover what that advertisement cost. Nothing in it identifies you by name, and we never combine it with data from elsewhere.

Analytics is switched off in the app as built and only turned on once the consent question below has been answered. Where consent is not required by law it turns on at first launch. You can turn it off again at any time by clearing the app's storage in your device settings, which makes the consent form appear again, or by deleting your advertising ID as described below. Google keeps event data for 14 months and then deletes it; aggregate reports derived from it may be kept longer.

Your choices

Children

Minus One is not directed to children. Ad requests are not tagged as child-directed and are not tagged for users under the age of consent, and ad content is capped at a Teen maturity rating. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that caused data to be collected, contact us using the address below and we will help you get it removed.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell your data. We do not share information with anyone other than Google, through AdMob in the course of serving the ads described above and through Google Analytics for Firebase as described under Analytics. Where the app was installed after tapping an advertisement for it, Google may match the install to that advertisement (Google Ads) so we can measure whether the advertising worked; that matching happens on Google's side and we only see totals. There is no crash reporter, no social login, and no tracking of you across other apps by us.

Retention and deletion

Data stored on your device is kept until you uninstall the app or clear its storage, whichever comes first. Data collected by Google for advertising is retained under Google's own retention policies, linked above; requests to delete it should be directed to Google, since we never hold a copy. Analytics events are kept by Google for 14 months. To have the analytics data tied to your app instance deleted sooner, email the address below with the approximate date you installed the app and we will file the deletion with Google.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts collecting anything not described here, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's store listing release notes.
